weekend trip to Busan

Hello! This past weekend I went to Geong-ju & Busan for a weekend trip with fellow students from California! Although there was a lot to see in the city of Busan, I loved the drive because I was able to enjoy the beautiful views of the mountains and country-sides. I know that Korea is well known for the bustling city of Seoul and the numerous fun activities that can be done there. But I think that the calm and peaceful spots of nature can easily be lost in the minds of visitors. I tried to take a lot of pictures from the bus, but only this one was decent enough to keep :)

In the city of Busan, I had the opportunity to visit the Gamcheon Culture Village in Busan, which is an area of residence. During the Korean War, thousands of people fled down south in hopes of safety and many people resided in Busan. Many people crammed into this hill called Gamcheon and it became a hill with many small houses. After the war, there were efforts from different groups to make the houses more stable and also to create the village into a creative community. We were able to see the village as a whole and also able to walk through the alley-ways, which I thought was pretty cool :) Anyways, here are some pictures!

I just wanted to share these two facets of my trip that I really enjoyed. :) I also have a video log for this trip, so if you want to check that out:

bye bye until next time ^

Thursday

picture or video?

I have been taking videos of my trip in Korean these past few weeks or so and I have been really enjoying it. It challenges me to be bold and to experiment with a different function on my camera. However, I have not been able to take as may pictures and I would like. The lens I use with my camera for pictures and video are different, so this further worsens my dilemma. Also, the time that I have spent editing videos has taken out of my normal blogging routine. It seems that I can't do everything at once and I can't seem to decide. I sort of obligated myself to vlogging by promising that I would attempt to post once a week. I also am behind on my journal... ㅠ__ㅠ *sigh*. Thanks for listening to me ramble for a bit.

Anyways, I will try my best to continue my blog while in Korea so I can look back and remember my experiences! It is also more likely that I will continue this blog but not my youtube vlogs. anywho..

here's some pictures of me at a trick eye museum in Hongdae! [taken by Jenny]

bye bye until next time ^
