What an exciting day.. Where do I even begin..
Took a bus to LA - that was fun, especially because of the rain. I love taking public transportation.. When I'm driving, biking or walking, I have to plan out when to turn and look up ahead of time what I'm going to see. But when I take the bus, I don't really anticipate what I'm going to see or what I'm going to experience. Even when I'm on the same route, I'm sitting with totally different people on a totally different day. It's like that quote - 'No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and he's not the same man.' Today, I met a man named Tony, whose business card is in the middle right, and we were talking about transportation, film, engineering, and traveling, and it was such a great conversation. I know parents teach us not to talk to strangers, but conversations with strangers are the most intriguing, in my opinion.Just got to say that LA is a truly beautiful place and home to some pretty amazing food. In fact, I'm going to heat up that other half of the panini that I didn't finish and eat it while I'm writing this blog.

Now back to blogging!
A glimpse of Unique LA:

| meet some of the most amazing vendors! |
There's just so much at Unique LA I don't think I can really explain it adequately... Imagine if Etsy blew up in a warehouse.. that would be Unique LA. About 300 vendors on the 13th story of the California Market Place in Los Angeles set up a booth in order to sell their goods. There's all kinds of handmade goodness - from Stationary goods, Prints, Bags, purses, Clothing, Jewelry, Home Decor, blankets, sunglasses, plush dolls, cotton candy, oatmeal cookies, and anything else. The vendors are amazing people and have so much talent - I only personally know about four of them, and that in itself feels like an honor. There are two photo booths with free prints (more on that later), free drinks, and a tote bag. My friend Michelle also blogged about Unique LA here, which sounds more sophisticated than my post. ha.

Afterwards, I was treated to..
~ a nice cafe mocha at a local coffee shop - (Yaki Cafe)
~ a bowl of 짜장면 (black bean noodles)
~ a Ben & Jerry's cherry garcia (which I am now eating after my panini :)
Finally back Home:
| some cute business cards I collected ~ |
Who doesn't love FREE stuff? This picture shows everything I got for free from unique LA - ~ a bottle cap (and the drink from Joia Life)
~ a little pin from a vendor who I don't remember
~ a tote bag given by Unique USA - the orange bag in the right top corner is the design from this year and the one with black words is the one from earlier this year, the Unique LA Spring Show.
~ a free hair tie (that is very comfortable)
~ a giraffe bracelet
~ a removable tattoo from Tattly
Even though I didn't buy anything, I went home with a lot of stuff!
~ free photo prints from Oh, Snap! and FlipBoothLA (one of my favorite things from Unique LA). Oh, Snap! is a photo booth that makes print with a picture that has a decorative background and props. FlipBoothLA is a photo booth that creates a small flipbook with six seconds of recording. The flip book is really cool, but impossible to show on the blog post.
I met Ali at her booth at Unique LA. Al is a wonderful girl I met last year through through Crafted. She is an amazing artist and has a store called Amarilo (you should check it out!) Today, she gave me this beautiful ring - a 14 kt rosemary gold fill cursive "love". I plan to intern for her in the future some time (hopefully next summer) and she said she'll teach me how to make jewelry! How exciting :)| mini cherry garcia with mini spoon |
This has been a long post, so I will leave and finish my lovely ice cream!
^ adventure's out there!
