new year, same tradition

Every year, my parents want me to make new year resolutions. I don't quite understand because I fail most of them .. But these resolutions are ones that I have been wanting to implement and I hope that the new year can be a motivator for them!

Find a job and start working full time
This is going to be a crazy year in transitioning to the work force. I want to find a job that will help me grow in my career in a work environment that I enjoy. But we will see who hires me!

Reduce cell phone use
It's crazy to me how much time that I waste on my phone and computer by just being a potato. I want to be able to be more present in the current time rather than being elsewhere, distracted by a screen. Here are some practicals:
 - Use paper planner instead of online calendar
 - Delete social media and email apps from phone
 - read books for entertainment instead of TV shows

Have a routine sleeping schedule (8 hours of sleep a night)
I just haven't been sleeping well.. I also feel like once I start working, it is important to maintain a discipline of sleeping a solid 8 hours a night so I have energy to do well at work.

Establish discipline of Sabbath (taking large time aside to rest)
This is one that will be important as I enter into the workforce and don't have as many people to help reflect upon my week as I do now. I want to be able to apply the things that I've learned at summer conference, but just haven't had the discipline to do so.

bye bye until next time ^
